On its 10^th birthday, Nuv Yug announces a new initiative "Nuvodaya - A New Dawn" to uplift and educate underprivileged youth in India. Through the Nuvodaya initiative, Nuv Yug is in the process of identifying reputable orphanages which will receive monetary and in-kind support for conducting enrichment activities for youth. Nuv Yug invites local community members to volunteer and help us identify additional orphanages to be supported by the Nuvodaya initiative. Nuv Yug has set a target of touching the lives of at least 1,000 youth for Nuvodaya in its first year of operation followed by 2,000 in the second year and 3,000 or more in the third year. Someone once said that even animals take care of their own offspring, only humans take care of other humans they don't even know. The global recession has significantly affected resources available for underprivileged youth in countries like India. In spite of the day to day challenges we face in America, we are still privileged to call this country our home and have the ability to pursue our dreams. It is only befitting that our community would give back to people, particularly youth, who are not as fortunate as our own youth here in America.

Through the Nuvodaya - A New Dawn initiave, Nuv Yug hopes to utilize it's brand and it's platform to mobilise resources to create unprecedented support infrastructure for youth and others in need. Nuv Yug has committed seed funds to successfully kick-off the Nuvodaya initiative. It plans to organize a series of events that would entertain and attract people to come forward and support our initiatve.

Update January 28, 2013: Nuv Yug has selected Ashwini Charitable Trust as the first recipient of a the Nuvodaya Initiative. Nuv Yug hopes to assist approximately 150 children through this support. Watch a video about Ashwini Charitable Trust. We selected Ashwini Charitable Trust after one of our own team members visited their location to verify their needs. As we ramp up our fundraising efforts, we hope to identify and reach out to several other similar organizations.
