A record breaking number of stage performers registered for India Fest 2009. On February 7, they auditioned to be selected for the stage performance. As a result, an unprecedented one thousand stage performers including auditioned and invited artist presented over one hundred dance and music performances at India Fest this year. This year, for the first time, we introduced an online paperless system for many aspects of the festival.
In spite of the wet weather on Saturday, India Fest attracted 8,000 visitors during the weekend. Indian Idol Prashant Tamang entertained the audience as hundreds got on the stage with him and danced to his songs.
The next India Fest will be held during the weekend of March 20-21, 2010. Online registration for stage performance, vendor booths, program book ads, and volunteer shifts will open in September 2009. The revised guidelines will be posted by July 2009.
